1. Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

You cannot have a cookie jar without this classic. They are sturdy enough to stack but stay soft in the middle.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  2. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are golden. Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes before moving to a wire rack.
