Five simple dinners. One grocery list.
No recipe hunting, no messy shopping notes, no complicated chef projects. Just family dinners that fit real weeks.
Gather Your Ingredients
Before you start, ensure you have all the necessary ingredients on hand. This will make the process smoother and prevent any last-minute trips to the store.
Prepare the Base
- Combine Ingredients: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 cup of whole milk, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Chill the Mixture: Pour the mixture into a container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled. This step is crucial for achieving the perfect creamy texture.
Make the Salted Caramel
- Melt Sugar: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of granulated sugar, stirring constantly until it turns a golden brown. Be careful not to burn the sugar.
- Add Butter and Cream: Once the sugar is melted, slowly add 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter, stirring continuously. Then, carefully add 1/2 cup of heavy cream, continuing to stir until the mixture is smooth.
- Season with Salt: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt. Allow the caramel to cool to room temperature.
Assemble the Creamie
- Prepare the Ninja Creamie Container: Pour the chilled cream mixture into the Ninja Creamie container, leaving space at the top for the caramel swirl.
- Add Caramel Swirl: Gently pour the cooled salted caramel over the cream mixture, using a spoon to create a swirl pattern. Be careful not to overmix; you want distinct ribbons of caramel throughout.
Freeze and Process
- Freeze: Place the container in the freezer for at least 24 hours, or until the mixture is fully frozen.
- Process: Once frozen, attach the container to the Ninja Creamie machine and process according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This will blend the base and caramel into a smooth, creamy dessert.
Serve and Enjoy
- Scoop and Serve: Use an ice cream scoop to serve the Ninja Creamie Salted Caramel Swirl in bowls or cones.
- Optional Garnishes: For an extra touch, sprinkle some sea salt or drizzle additional caramel over the top.
Tips for Success
- Chill Thoroughly: Ensure the cream mixture is well chilled before freezing to achieve the best texture.
- Caramel Care: Monitor the caramel closely as it melts to prevent burning.
- Swirl Gently: Create distinct swirls of caramel for the perfect blend of flavors.
Ninja Creamie Salted Caramel Swirl
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for caramel)
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (for caramel)
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Mix the heavy cream, whole milk, base sugar and vanilla until the sugar dissolves; chill while making the caramel.
- For the caramel, melt the listed 1 cup sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until amber. Carefully stir in the listed butter and caramel cream; the mixture will bubble. Stir smooth, add sea salt and cool.
- For a standard 16-ounce Ninja CREAMi model, prepare 2 compatible pint containers. For a different model, use only its compatible containers and follow their MAX FILL lines. Divide the chilled ice-cream base among enough containers compatible with your Ninja CREAMi model, leaving room for caramel and keeping each below MAX FILL. This batch is larger than one standard 16-ounce pint.
- Add 2 tablespoons of cooled caramel to each standard pint (or divide 4 tablespoons among the batch’s containers) without exceeding MAX FILL; refrigerate the remaining caramel for serving. Freeze the covered containers level for at least 24 hours.
- Process each container separately using your model’s Ice Cream directions. Serve with the reserved caramel.
Notes
- Ensure the cream mixture is well chilled before freezing.
- Watch the caramel closely to avoid burning.
- Create distinct caramel swirls for balanced flavor.
